Dave Dacquino, Chairman- Serco Inc – “This is Teddy- my grandnephew. He has been in the NICU at Syracuse since the day he was born. He desperately needed to be transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Philadelphia for a life saving operation that his parent’s insurance company refused to approve. His father is a public servant – a policeman. The hospital in Syracuse wrote a letter to the insurance company stating that they felt the transfer was medically necessary. Still denied. In come our friends- and in this case lifesaver (literally) Jonathan Spaeth. Jon took over the matter and pro bono took on the insurance company- drove an expedited appeal – and successfully pressured them for a compressed timeline. Today-less than two weeks after he took over – we were told that Jon succeeded and that the appeal would be granted and now Teddy is finally on his way to CHOP. In today’s world so many people claim to be “helpers” – and so many sadly rarely do anything. I can say with 100% conviction that Courtney & Jon are the epitome of not just helpers but selfless people who always help others. My family is very grateful to them- and if you ever need a lawyer to successfully fight an insurance company- contact Jonathan Spaeth – he is the best!”
